Topic: Setting the Guardrails: Preparing Managers to Lead People Well
The session focuses on practical ways organizations can equip supervisors and managers to understand the essential boundaries and responsibilities of people leadership.
Victoria Matney brings over 25 years of hands-on leadership experience to her work in developing and supporting managers. She began leading people at an unusually young age—terminating her first employee at 17 and conducting her first performance evaluation at 20. From those early experiences to now, she has learned a great deal about what employers can do better to support their people—starting with preparing supervisors, managers, and anyone in a leadership role to lead well.
Victoria holds a Master of Leadership Development from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, a Master of Public Affairs from IUPUI, and a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership and Supervision from Purdue University. She is also a SHRM-CP, underscoring her expertise in human resources and people management.
Her practical, no-nonsense approach blends real-world management lessons with academic training, making her workshops highly relevant for organizations seeking to set clear guardrails and strengthen their leadership teams.
